Here is a Christmas twist Song-Poem, from Globe Records out of Nashville, Tennessee. Globe recorded songs and made master recordings for other Song-Poem companies around the country. As well as releasing their own records, they worked under custom label names for individual customers who wanted to have their own “record company.”
Sammy Marshall was Globe’s main featured male singer, recording under many different pseudonyms, such as Sonny Marshall, Sonny Maracel, Sonny Marcell, Ben Tate, Johnny Cargill, Chuck Jones, Terry Bruce, and numerous others.
Jingle Mint Twist was written by a songwriting team credited as “Brandes/Norris,” who was actually one man - Norridge Mayhams. He was a prolific songwriter and record company executive, who started his career in the 1930’s in Tin Pan Alley, and worked the business until his death in the 1980s. Norridge also had several other of his song-poems recorded by Globe Records. He seemed to really like the “Jingle Mint” theme, since he also wrote a song called “There’s A Jingle Mint Twisted (With A Bossa Nova Beat).”
