Gary Ramey With Floyd & Little Soul Sisters - Moon-y Min-i Men Visit Santa Claus

Gary Ramey is a singer who he released some songs for the Tammy label out of Youngstown, Ohio (primarily a soul and funk label). One of the singles that he released through Tammy Records was ‘Moon-y Min-i Men Visit Santa Claus,’ which he recorded with ‘Floyd and the Little Soul Sisters.’ The song tells the story of 5 tiny moon men (Moon-y, Min-i, Mine-y, Moe and Joe) who come to earth on a mission to the North Pole to visit Santa to ask him to visit outer space to bring presents to all of the lonely children in outer space. Santa states that he doesn’t have enough time to visit space due to his earthly obligations, however one of the moon men begs Santa to reconsider and tells Santa the secret to outer space time travel, which leaves Santa to say “I’ll start from the East and if I work fast, I’ll gain time for outer space by going west.”

January 7th, 2007

Cuban-Mexican director, René Cardona, director of several Santo (the wrestler/hero) films, brings us Santa vs. Satan in this 1959 family horror film (as presented on Mystery Science Theater 3000). Not actually a horror film (ostensibly it is a family film) but “horror” is the only word that comes to mind when I think of this movie.

Punctuating the two and four with bright guitar chords is none other than legendary jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell. Read more »
